Craw’s Sports Biz 4/1/20

By Gregory Crawford @wchoops

Minor League baseball has always been known as being creative. In these trying and unknown times, many minor league teams are turning to creative measures to keep people working and beyond.

Many minor league clubs are opening their kitchens and concessions to help get food to people and for curbside delivery. As well teams are supplying employees to work temporarily for other businesses in their area. The tougher it gets, I am sure the more creative minor league baseball will become as we move forward.

Craw’s Sports Biz 59 Seconds

Conservative figures done by myself figure that 2019 NFL Draft in Nashville brought in $200 million to local economy.

Just one example of economic impact that the coronavirus affects. 2020 Draft of course will be done in seclusion as it should be.

Craw’s Coach of Year

By Gregory Crawford @wchoops

Every basketball season at the end I try to pick a coach of year for all levels and both genders.

Each year it is difficult, this year was not.

Craw’s 2020 winner is Michael Meek, University of Portland women’s basketball coach.

Pretty simple, Meek led is Pilots to the WCC Championship in Las Vegas, as a huge underdog.

And the great part,
most of the team will be back for 20-21 season.

Nice going Michael Meek, Craw’s Corner National Coach of Year.
