Jose Altuve |
What a week for Jose Altuve, the Houston Astros diminutive second baseman!
Rebounding from a sub-par 2018 season and also from off-season knee surgery, the 5'6" All-Star infielder had a lot to prove. In week 4 of the MLB season, he did just that.
After Houston put the finishing touches on a 3 game sweep of the Seattle Mariners yesterday, Altuve's anything but routine week at the office looked like this:
*6 Home Runs
*Home Runs in 5 consecutive games
*10 Runs batted in.
*10 for 25 .400 BA
It now appears Altuve's performance dip last season was the result of playing half a season with a broken knee-cap. His 2019 heroics have rescued a slumping Houston offense to start the year. With Sunday's sweep of the Mariners, the Astros have now reeled off 9 straight wins. Altuve is now 2nd in the American League in HR's with 7, trailing only Oakland slugger Kris Davis, who has 10.
Houston's second baseman is back in All-Star form!!
